Any person, who has a physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, has a record of such impairment or is regarded as having such impairment or is regarded as having such impairment. It involves heaving, mobility, visual impairment, chronic alcoholism, and chronic mental illness. From the article it is necessary to provide assistance to individuals with disabilities to lead a productive life. People with disabilities are of ten unable to obtain health care insurance that provides coverage of the services and supports to enable them to live independently and enter or rejoin the workforce. Personal assistance services such as attendant services, assistance with transportation to and from work, reader services, job coaches and related service may remove barriers between significant disability and work. A company should have a proper policy in dealing with employees with disabilities. They should be treated as equals at the workplace who also are able to deliver services like those ones without disabilities specialized training should be conducted by the company management to thoroughly equip those with disabilities in order to handle any type of job at the workplace. For individuals with disabilities the fear of losing health care and related services is one of the greatest barriers keeping individuals from maximizing their employment, earning potential and independence. On December 1999 President Clinton signed a law that encouraged states to adopt the option of allowing people with disabilities acquire medical coverage that is vital to enable such individuals to maintain employment. In short people with disabilities may have functional limitations that may create barriers in employment e.g. acquiring requisite education, experience and expertise to perform essential functions of a job but maybe unable to perform non-essential job like turning pages without assistance. Employers should assist qualified individuals with disabilities overcome particular barriers to their employment resulting from their functional limitations. Personal assistance services are form of assistance used by persons with disabilities to perform tasks that the person would perform for himself or herself if he/she did not have disability. Personal assistance services include assistance with services that include reading, communication and performing manual tasks e.g. assisting in bathing, eating personal hygiene and dressing. Job related assistance in the performance of such tasks as reading communication and performance of non-essential manual tasks; business related travel maybe considered reasonable accommodations. Many computer users with disabilities especially those with impairments have been left out in recent transition from traditional character based computing to the new graphical user interface (GUI). ââ¬Å"The broad movement toward graphical applications using buttons that cannot be read aloud or translated into Braille has sparked widespread concern among the blindâ⬠writes David Wilson in the chronicle of higher education. Recruitment is a major staffing or procurement process. It deals with providing human inputs to the organization it makes it possible for organization to acquire the number and the type of the people necessary to ensure the continued operation of the organization. Recruitment is therefore the process of attracting potential job candidates to apply for vacant positions in the organization that is, it is a searching process. Sources of recruitments include; internal sources which involves recruiting from within the organization through promotion or deployment of qualified personnel. Interviews may also be conducted to select the candidates fro various types of jobs in the organization in the organization. Some of the advantages of sourcing from within the organization are that, it improves employees morale; the employer is in a better position to evaluate the presently employed than outside candidates promotes loyalty among employees for it gives them a sense of job security and opportunity for it gives them a sense of job security and opportunity for advancement, It is less, costly than going outside to recruit, also recruiting from within has little training needed by the employees who are currently serving in the organization, it also promotes a positive organizational culture for example organizational cohesiveness. Some of the disadvantages of recruiting from within are that it leads to in breeding that is organizational stagnation; there is possibility that internal sources may dry-up and may be difficult to find the required personnel from within. External sources of staffing refer to the supply of personnel manpower from sources outside the organization. The sources may include; new entrants to the labor markets for example fresh college graduates; retired experienced persons, presently employed persons from other organization or unemployed already in the labor market with a wide range of skills and ability. Some of the advantages of external sources of recruitment includes the fact that the external sources may provide personnel having skills, training or education required by the organization from external market sources an organization may acquire potential employees who are experienced, trained and does not require extra training for their job hence this may reduce the cost of training to the organization. Employeeââ¬â¢s selection according to John Toye, Employment policy, (1975) is the process by which job candidates are assessed or screened to determine their suitability for a given job. The purpose of selection is to help employers secure for evaluating their suitability from the advertised positions. It involves a series of successive hurdles designed to eliminate unqualified applicant at any point in the process that is when facts come to light which may lead to the rejection of candidate. Not all selection process or steps, however, include many barriers. The complexity of any process usually increases with the level and responsibility of the position to be filled. Some of the steps involved in selection includes; preliminaryà interviews; selection interviews; employment tests; assessment centers; medical examinations; reference checks and the final selection and the consequent approval by the top managers. According to G.A. Cole, managerial theory and practice (1996) job training can be defined as a short-term process by which skills and capabilities of non-managerial employees are improved, though a system and organized procedure so as to enable them to be more productive an their jobs. Thus, training is job centered or task oriented which is centered with importing specific skills to subordinate staffs. Job development is used with reference to training given to managers and executives in an organization; thus management or executive development is along-term educational growth process by which managerial person and gains and learns conceptual knowledge for general managerial or administrative purposes. The objectives of training and development are that; training improve technical capacity of an individual on job performance, improves health or safety of employees hence industrial, reduces sported work hence less scrap or material wastage. This reduces the cost of production, prepares personal for future jobs challenges an promotions, enables the employers adapt to a change to work method or procedures, enables two employers learn method of operating real machines and equipment ins talked by a organization example a computer. There are various methods of job training such as on-job training which entails looking what your colleague is doing. This is an internal training method commonest mode of training and the most appropriate method of training employees for the skills required for a specific job. This method is very cheap as the learner is in the wok place where he/she s expected to working in, the learner uses the equipment he is expected to use and also he/she is able to learn the rules, procedure under careful company eyes and is able and easier to size them up. Off the job training is done externally. It ensures that special training equipments are available and the training is of higher equipment are available and the training is of higher quality because it is offered by experts, specialists from outside, the trainee is able to learn in a planned stages using special exercise especially in difficult areas of the job. Off the job training is done lectures can be used where a large group is being trained for a short period of time. In order to improve the effectiveness of training, there must be specific objectives for training. An attempt should be made to determine the suitability of a trainee for potentiality and ability. The trainee must be assisted to see the need for the training. Attempts must be made to create organizational conditions that are good or conductive to learning. A good compensation to employees should be administered through wage and salary administration so as to improve the service delivery of employees. Salary and wage administration involves the direction of programs designed to implement payment of monetary/non monetary rewards to employees. The primary financial reward is pay in form of wages and salaries, sometimes referred to as compensation or remuneration. The objectives of employees compensations programs are designed to attract capable employees to the organization, to motivate them towards superior performance, retain their services over an extended period of time. Online Behavioral Targeting and Consumer Privacy Issues Essay
Sophoclesââ¬â¢ prolific writing has rarely produced a woman of such stern strength of character as ââ¬Å"Antigoneâ⬠. Inversely the comedy of Aristophanes ââ¬Å"Lysistratâ⬠was among the first to introduce a strong willed female protagonist, who is not a goddess. The treatment of both great writers differs in the fact that the backdrops and the moods are distinctly different. While Sophocles zeroed in on the sombre tragedy, Aristophanes chose to inject feminist revolt against domination through zestful comedy. From a gender perspective it is important to study the motives behind the actions of the lead characters in both the plays. There have been suicides and suicides in Greek tragedies (which almost define Greek tragedies). Sophoclesââ¬â¢ Antigone commits suicide in the dark dungeon left to starve to death. But unlike the suicide of their mother Jocasta who decides to end her life when she learns that her marital relationship with Oedipus was incestuous, Antigoneââ¬â¢s death is a defiant protest against the tyranny of her uncle Creon and an emphasis of her strongly held belief, that her brother should be accorded a proper burial. There have been few examples of valour from Greek women who defied the norms of either their contemporary society or their king for a symbolic gesture rather than a cause. In the case of Antigone it was the burial rights to one of her two dead brothers which drives her to go against the will of the ruler, Creon. ââ¬Å"Antigoneâ⬠begins after both the warring brothers have apparently killed each other and since Polynices revolted against the state and led an Argive army to overthrow his brother Eteocles, he is deemed to be a sinner against the state. Thus Creone, brother of Jocasta, who becomes the ruler decrees his body to be deprived of proper burial rites to ensure that his soul rots beyond redemption. Antigone, in the beginning of the play expresses her wish to accord her brother proper burial. It is a symbolic depiction of Antigoneââ¬â¢s moral strength that she decides to go ahead in her chosen course though she is unable to enlist the support of her more timid sister Ismene. This is a marked deviation from the depiction of women in Greek literature of the time where women were always looked upon as dependent on others for the strength of their convictions. Antigone succeeds in her stated mission and when this becomes known to Creone, an argument rages on the choice between the natural law and man-made laws. In another daring drift from established norm, the chorus in Sophoclesââ¬â¢ play have the moral courage to call the path of their emperor as the more evil. Creoneââ¬â¢s son and Antigoneââ¬â¢s fiance Haemon comes to her defence and the ensuing debate on the justice of natural laws which should supersede man made laws is a dramatistââ¬â¢s delight. Creone, however, decides to leave Antigone to starve to death in a sealed cave as her prison. The blind prophet Tiresias also advocates against punishment to Antigone and says he will pay ââ¬Å"corpse for corpse, and flesh for fleshâ⬠. The declaration of Tiresias that Creon is causing moral pollution causes a change of heart in Creone. His moral dilemma leads him to conclude that Polynices should be buried and Antigone should be pardoned. But by this time, Hameon reaches Antigoneââ¬â¢s cave with the intention of saving her only to find that she has committed suicide by hanging herself, much like her mother Jocasta before her. When Creon reaches the cave he finds Hameon grieving over Antigone and he takes his life by stabbing himself as Creon approaches him. This leads Eurydice, Creonââ¬â¢s wife to give up her life in the grief of her sonââ¬â¢s untimely death. Thus Creon loses all his loved ones due to his one fatal erring conviction to hold the laws of the state above the natural law. The tragic flaw, is thus justified in Sophoclesââ¬â¢ ââ¬Å"Antigoneâ⬠. It is easy to categorize the play Lysistrata by Aristophanes as a lewd comedy designed to entertain the Greek literature and drama lovers with a lampooning of the results if women begin to take an interest in affairs of national importance. It is also very convenient to visualize male actors playing all the important roles of the play and the ââ¬Å"maleâ⬠male characters wearing erect phalluses to depict their masculinity might have led to uproarious laughter. However, with passing time and the aid of retrospection help us to begin to understand that Aristophanes might have devoted considerable time and emotional energy in trying to decipher what goes through the hearts and heads of women of his time who were modelled to be subservient and detached from the affairs of the state. Lysistrata leads a domestic and non violent non-cooperation movement (though the medium of non cooperation seldom ventures beyond the conventional sexual subjugation) to convince the men of the time to end the long standing war (apparently the Peloponnesian war) and bring back peace. The play is an apparent comedy that it depicts women as sex crazed and spine less characters for whom rising beyond their daily chores is a daunting task. Except fro Lysistrata, no other woman comes across as strong willed enough to contribute in any way to the cause of the play. One can imagine the gusty laughter the scene involving the swearing of oath by drinking wine from a shield as it was a portrayal of women as being incapable of self restraint (from all good things in life, including wine and sex). Though Lysistrata as a play has a lot of titillate the viewers, it has been seen in modern light as a commentary on the plight of women who have no say in the affairs of the state entirely decide by the men but have to silently suffer the consequences. This has remained unchanged even after the liberation ages of the 20th century. Aristophanes does manage to draw a caricature of Greek women as incapable of with holding sex or thinking beyond sex as the only weapon in her armour to control or change society. It is possible though to excuse this caricature as Aristophanesââ¬â¢ attempt not to ruffle the feathers of his contemporary society while at the same time recording for future history that women did harbour different opinions on the approaches of the state to war and peace. The widowhood and martyrdom of a mother who loses her children to the ravages of war are not mentioned, perhaps because they would have added the much relegated sobriety to this deemed comedy. Gender domination is a visible thread in Lysistrata, but whether Aristophanes designed this play as a comic fiction based on improbable scenarios of liberated women questioning state policies, or as an underhanded attempt to depict female angst of his contemporary Greek society is debatable. However Lysistrata has remained current and meaningful to this date due to its universal themes of Peace being preferred over War and has helped several social commentators put across their point during the several un necessary wars that dot world history to date be it the Vietnam war or the latest invasion of Iraq. Whatever be the motivation, both Sophocles and Aristophanes manage to leave behind a piece of Literature which continues to engage readers and historians in a healthy debate on the premium placed on female equality by writers from the Greek age to the present day. Provide Reception Services Essay
1.1 There are many purposes to a receptionist role especially being the first point of call between the company and the client/supplier. Being the first point of call is an important role because it helps the whole company. When a customer/supplier comes in a receptionist can get the correct member of staff for the person. Also it ensures that somebody knows who is in the building and has got them to sign in so the company had a record and itââ¬â¢s easier for people to be accounted for in cases of emergency. In some businesses the receptionists make appointments for the other staff for customers/suppliers to come in. They also take the call and pass it to the right person. Being a smaller company we do not have somebody that has been employed as a receptionist but because of where my desk is placed I have adopted the role. In this role I have to welcome people into the building, make sure that they sign in and offer them a drink. I also find out who they are here to see or do. If they want to collect goods I can pass them on if the girls in sales are busy but if they are here for a meeting or chat I let the member of staff know. 1.2 When doing a receptionist role you have to present a positive image of yourself and of the company. When someone enters the building and a positive image is being portrayed it makes them feel more comfortable and that the company is a good business to work with or use. If the staff a positive it shows the customer/supplier that they are going to get things done and enjoy what you do so you are going to do the best you can for them. 1.3 It doesnââ¬â¢t take a lot to show a positive image of yourself and the company. For starters just having a smile on your face helps massively because people can tell. Offering a drink when people walk in also presents a good image because it shows that you will do anything to make them feel comfortable. Keeping yourself and you work space clean, organised and smart shows that you care about yourself and what you are doing and also shows that you are a person that is ready to do things. 2.1In any business there are many lines of communication fro m the reception. For example if somebody came into the office with a complaint the receptionist would have to take down details and pass them on. If the complaint is about a product that would be passed on to their account manager, if the complaint was about employee ââ¬âdepending on the size of theà company- you would go to the supervisor or managing director. If someone came into Othello Martin James and could be a potential new customer I would take down some details and pass it on to the best person depending on who was free or where the person was based for example if they are based in Swadlincote or the surrounding areas I would pass it on to Tanya. But is she wasnââ¬â¢t available I would pass it to whoever was free and able to talk. If someone came in with questions about new products or a new order I would find out who the account manager was. 2.2In larger companies both employeeââ¬â¢s and the public have to make appointments to see supervisors or the managing director. This all g oes through the reception as they can arrange the appointments and mange diaries. But at Othello Martin James we are a smaller office and less formal than big businesses. We donââ¬â¢t need to make an appointment to see our supervisors or managing director we are all in the same office and can just ask for two minutes if we need to have a chat. 2.3In every business there are many procedures for people coming into the office. For example entry and departure, security and confidentiality and finally health and safety, all of these procedures are made to difference business standards depending on the company. For example with entry and departure some high security companies might have to so more checks on people than say an office like ours. For example in any business visitors will have to sign in so the company has a record of who has visited and also in cases of emergency there is a record of who is in the building. This is very important so there are records because if there isnââ¬â¢t and an emergency does happen somebody could be in the building but you wou ldnââ¬â¢t know because you have no records. Security and confidentiality are important to any business because there are some many documents that need to be covered under the data protection act. In a reception a lot of documents are held for example in a doctors surgery they have all the patient records for the people that are going in that day, in an office there are details of the employees and the business. If people could just walk in they can easily get these records. If somebody is on reception all the time while the office is open this stops the security and confidentiality risk. 2.4Like I have mentioned earlier in our office we do not have somebody that is employed as a receptionist but because of where my desk is placed I have adopted the role. The way our office is designed there are four desks in our receptionà area which is also the accounts department. There is also somebody in this part of the office so people canââ¬â¢t just walk into our office without somebody knowing. We ask visitors to sign into our sign-in book so we have a record. Also when someone is always in that office people canââ¬â¢t just walk in and access information that isnââ¬â¢t to b e viewed by them. Also our office is in a business park which has security fencing around the units, when people arrive they have to press the buzzer to be let in. For example is somebody is coming round for a meeting the have to press our buzzer and I have to pick up the phone find out who they are and let them in through the gates. 2.5/6The purpose of having health and safety procedures is to make sure that everyone safe and protected. This includes procedures such as signing in. It is my responsibility to make sure that everyone that comes into the office sign in and also know where the assembly point is in case of emergency. When visitors come in to the building I just ask them to fill in the book before I ask who they are here to see or if they want a drink. 2.7There are many emergency procedures in businesses from fire exits to if somebody becomes ill. In our office if a fire happens first the fire alarm will go office then we all have to get up and leave in a calm manner via the fire exits that are lit up and meet at the assembly point that is across the car park. My role is just to make sure that I can get out without causing a fuss als o when we are at the assembly point I should know if someone is missing because I see everyone that walks through the door. But being a small business the majority of us are in the same office on the same floor the rest will be our delivery drivers which could be in the warehouse or on the road. The sales office knows when drivers come back so will know if somebody is in the warehouse. If somebody falls ill or has an accident first we find out how urgent it is for example can we phone their emergency contact or do they need to go to hospital. I donââ¬â¢t have much of a role in this as I am not the first aider. But if I needed to help I will also my desk is closest to the kitchen where the first aid kit and emergency numbers are kept so I may have to run in and get them. 2.8/9In our office we donââ¬â¢t tend to get visitors that come in showing aggression and causing conflict because everyone comes in for a reason. But we sometimes receive conflict/aggression on the telephone and have to act in the same way ââ¬â also sometimes our delivery drivers receive face to face conflict and aggressionà wh ile out on the road. When this does happen we have to remain calm and take details of what the person is being aggressive about. If the person starts being aggressive we can ask them to leave or put the phone as we donââ¬â¢t have to tolerate that behaviour. Depending on what the person was being aggressive about depends on who I would refer it to. But in all cases I would tell my managing director and supervisor. 3.1/4.8In any office there are many reasons/purposes for suggesting ideas for improving the reception area. A reception area should have a desk for the receptionist where they can see the door, a telephone, a computer for the work of the receptionist and basic office equipment. If the building has security gates the buzzer should be behind the receptionist desk. For the visitors it should have a seating area and a signing in book. Some businesses have a water dispenser and magazine racks. The receptionist is best for suggesting ideas for the reception area because they are in there all the time and can see how it works for the visitors. Also the reception area should be a clean and welcoming environment. When suggesting ideas it helps keep the reception area modern and in best working order for you ââ¬â the receptionist and the visitor. 3.2In any office there is always going to be quite times when all your jobs have been completed. At this point you can ask other members of staff if they need a hand with anything just to help with their work load. As previously mentioned about me adopting the role I work in the accounts department so I have many roles to duties to do but we can still have quite times where I go and ask if anybody needs a hand. Just before we finished for Christmas 2014 we had a couple of issues with our account program Sage. While this was being sorted I went in to the sales office and asked if they wanted a hand to finish the jobs for the year so I helped file the scanned delivery notes on the computer.

Moderate democracy and worldwide capitalism form the main issues I address to individuals who express fear in my presence or ideas, because of the media images they are exposed to on a daily basis. Developing a sense of belonging in a culture is an essential part of every personââ¬â¢s maturity. Every individualââ¬â¢s self-conception forms part of a one of a kind combination of identifications that define a person. These identifications would significantly contribute to the research thesis and topic since they appear to correspond with every personââ¬â¢s interests. Since work and income was now dependant on the factories, workers need to find homes in relative proximity, thus leading to higher density of individuals within the urban areas surrounding the manufacturing centers. With urbanization came a need for production and transportation of food to the growing cities. In the 18th and early 19th centuries, this food was generally produced locally on the surrounding farmlands with only the occasional delicacy imported from a foreign land. While factory work was hard and the hours long, people chose it over subsistence farming as it lead to a better standard of living for themselves and their offspring. Bertha Black remembers her familyââ¬â¢s move to a mill town: We all went to work, in the Amazon Cotton Mill and we all worked there all our lives. We were all anxious to go to work because, I donââ¬â¢t know, we didnââ¬â¢t like farming. It was so hot from sunup to sundown. No, that was not for me. Mill work was better. It had to be. Once we went to work in the mill after we moved here from the farm, we had more clothes and more kinds of food than we did when we was a farminââ¬â¢. And we had a better house. The United States, one of the top 20 global incomes per capita (World Bank, 2011, p. 1), supports this, as 82. 1% of the population live in urban centers (Satterthwaite, 2010, p. 2). Urbanization trends have been linked to enhanced democracy, technological innovations, economic progress, and higher living standards (Satterthwaite, 2010, p. 2). Is it any wonder then that ââ¬Å"[n]o matter the path of economic development a country has chosen, urbanization remains an inevitable outcome of this effort across the world (Satterthwaite, 2010, p. 1)â⬠. As the living standards and population densities of urban centers increase, so too do the distance that food needs to be transported. Today, a large urban center, like the greater New York City metropolitan area with a population of over 21 million people (US Census, 2010), has to reach to great distances for its food. This is because 1. acres of arable land are required per person to maintain the diverse diet Americanââ¬â¢s enjoy (Pimentel Giampietro, 1994). This translates to 25. 2 million acres of arable land being required to feed New York City. Thus 7% of the US population (US Census, 2010) requires 10% of Americaââ¬â¢s farmland (USDA, 2012, p. 56). It should come as no surprise then that our agriculture imports exceeded $94 billion in 2011 (USDA, 2012, p. 90). The comparative wealth of the American populace, coupled with their culinary desires leads to a demand for imports of produce and other horticultural items during the off seasons in the US. Put another way, Americansââ¬â¢ desire for fresh tomatoes on their Del Taco tacos in February in the American northeast drives global trade to farmers in Central and South America. The motivation of the labor market, to increase quality of life, explains the willingness of individuals to accept factory work and their desire to progress to better, higher paying jobs. Neo-classic economic theory explains business motivation to achieve maximum profitability through efficiency of production (Weintraub, 2002). Efficiency is maximized through three inter-related and adjustable parameters: technology; labor; materials. Technology, as expressed in terms of facilities and equipment, is a fixed cost of production, whereas labor and materials, including transportation expenses, remain variable costs (Starr, 2008). In achieving the optimal balance, any large discrepancy will heavily weight the calculation. For example, the wages for textile workers in southeast Asia are 7% of the wages in United States (Rivoli, 2009, p. 104). This large of a differential in the variable cost makes it virtually impossible to create an equivalent model through enhanced technology, especially when most technology advances can be applied to factories located in the lower labor cost countries. Thus Rivoliââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Race to the Bottomâ⬠continues (Rivoli, 2009, pp. 92ââ¬â104), bringing with it industrialization and urbanization. As with any race, there are winners and losers. The countries acquiring the manufacturing jobs and the companies maximizing their profits through relocating manufacturing to the lower labor cost countries are obvious winners. The employees of the factories being off-shored are initially the losers, until the race progresses to the next industrial sector. A clear example of this is the Carolinas, where many textile workerââ¬â¢s jobs have been lost to southeast Asia, now have opportunities for better paying jobs in auto manufacturing. BMW opened a plant in Spartanburg, SC, the middle of the cotton belt, which generates over $1. 2 billion in wages and salaries annually (Ramsey, 2009). Thus the race continues, moving from industry to industry, as total production cost dominates companiesââ¬â¢ decisions on where to locate manufacturing. However, many of those losing their jobs in America raise the cry to stop globalization, reconstitute local manufacturing and local food markets. This would not appear to be a feasible alternative for three reasons. First, the degree of urbanization present in the United States makes it unreasonable to expect food to be produced locally. Similarly, the relative wealth and current lifestyle lead many to expect and demand fresh produce year round. Together, these preclude a shift to locally grown and produced foods. Second, most companies in America today have some aspect of globalization present in their value chain. This can be upstream in their suppliers of materials and/or equipment or downstream in their customers. This is readily apparent in large corporations, such as Nike and WalMart, but it is also present in smaller companies. Rygaard Logging, Inc. out of Port Angeles, Washington is a good example. This small company relies on equipment imported from South Korea and Germany to harvest logs. China has become the largest buyer for timber from the northwest, thus becoming an attractive customer for Rygaard (Springer, 2011). Unwinding these value chains to bring manufacturing back to America may be possible, but would require the will of politicians in Washington to face the public backlash as prices increased, and selections decreased (Rivoli, 2009). Third, the growing population requires more land be utilized for their living and working environment. Current estimates show each person in the US consumes one acre for housing, work facilities, and supporting infrastructure (World Bank, 2011). Further, the current population growth is over 50,000 new people per week (Pimentel Giampietro, 1994), meaning that over 2. 5 million acres of arable land or bio-diverse forest land is lost annually, increasing the pressure on food production. Plus, these people are generally employed by firms that rely on globalization in their value chain, as described above. Together, these factors make it highly improbable that the US can return to 100% locally produced foods and companies whose value chain resides 100% within Americaââ¬â¢s boarders without significant changes in lifestyle.

I know of a tool that will be extremely helpful and is already available to them; the Internet. Up until a few years ago, when a student graduated they were basically thrown out into the real world with just their education and their wits. Most of the time this wasn't good enough because after three or four years of college, the perspective entrepreneur either forgot too much of what they were supposed to learn, or they just didn't have the finances. Then by the time they save sufficient money, they again had forgotten too much. I believe I have found the answer. On the Internet your students will be able to find literally thousands of links to help them with their future enterprises. In almost every city all across North America, no matter where these students move to, they are able to link up and find everything they need. They can find links like "Creative Ideas", a place they can go and retrieve ideas, innovations, inventions, patents and licensing. Once they come up with their own products, they can find free expert advice on how to market their products. There are easily accessible links to experts, analysts, consultants and business leaders to guide their way to starting up their own business, careers and lives. These experts can help push the beginners in the right direction in every field of business, including every way to generate start up revenue from better management of personal finances to diving into the stock mar ket. When the beginner has sufficient funds to actually open their own company, they can't just expect the customers to come to them, they have to go out and attract them. This is where the Internet becomes most useful, in advertising. On the Internet, in every major consumer area in the world, there are dozens of ways to advertise. The easiest and cheapest way, is to join groups such as "Entrepreneur Weekly". These groups offer weekly newsletters sent all over the world to major and minor businesses informing them about new companies on the market. Oscar Wilde and His Fairy Tales I. Introduction Wilde, Oscar (Fingal Oââ¬â¢Flahertie Wills) (b. Oct. 16, 1854, Dublin, Ire ?d. Nov. 30, 1900, Paris, Fr.) Irish wit, poet and dramatist whose reputation rests on his comic masterpieces Lady Windermereââ¬â¢s Fan (1893) and The Importance of Being Earnest (1899). He was a spokesman for Aestheticism, the late19th-century movement in England that advocated art for artââ¬â¢s sake. However, Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s takeoff of his enterprise and, his shaping of his characteristic style of works could be both considered originating from his fairy tales. It was not until his first collection of fairy tales had come out that he was regarded as an influential author. The British magazine Elegance, in which his The Selfish Giant is said to be adequately regarded as ââ¬Å"the perfect works?and, his complete collection of fairy tales are even said to be the quintessence of the pure English language, equates him with the famous Danish writer of fairy tales Hans Christian Anderson. In order to explore and study the fact why Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s takeoff of his enterprise and, his shaping of his characteristic style of works could be both considered originating from his fairy tales, and the social, religious and aesthetic aspects of Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s fairy tales, in this essay, I try to analyze from the angles of sociology and religion three of Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s fairy tales, namely The Happy Prince, The Selfish Giant and The Young King, which personally I regard as the most typical characteristic style of Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s works. In this essay, the first chapter gives a brief introduction and background of Oscar Wilde and his fairy tales; the second chapter summarizes the three fairy tales which I have chosen to study, namely The Happy Prince, The Selfish Giant and The Young King; the third chapter expounds from the angles of sociology and religion my personal in-depth study and analysis of the three fairy tales of Oscar Wilde; the last chapter gives a personal brief conclusion of the value of Oscar Wildeââ¬â¢s fairy tales. II. A Brief Introduction and Background of Oscar Wilde and His Fairy tales Once upon a time there was a boy named Oscar Wilde. Oscar lived on a far way land called Ireland with his mother and father. Theoretical framework ââ¬Å"When a person dies in the Philippines, Christian Filipinos ââ¬âsuch as Catholics that include the tagalong people- generally hold a wake known as lamay or paglalamay, a vigil that typically lasts for five to seven nights, but may last longer if the surviving family is waiting for someone who will be traveling f rom afar. During this time, the cleaned and embalmed body of the dead, place in coffin is displayed in a house of deceased or at the funeral home.The exhibited casket of the departed is traditionally surrounded by funeral lights, a guest registry book, a contribution box, and flowers. Family members, relatives, and acquaintances participate in the vigil. We will complete our service from picking up the body from their places, embalming, delivery, and burial. We also provide flowers as condolence to the family of the deceased. Depending on the owner of the body as to which casket they want for the deceased , the minimum package cost is (PHP) 17,000 pesos and maximum of (PHP) 500,000 pesos. â⬠c) Personnel salary ââ¬Å"Embalmers and drivers will receive a fixed monthly salary of (PHP) 12,000 pesos whether there are customers or none. â⬠4) What are the problems encountered in this type of business? Well competencies cannot be denied with this type of business, especially that we are located very near to our competitors but with our popularity of this industry, we are not afraid of it. Aside from this, booking reservation is our problem that usually encountered or having too much customers because we only have three (3) delivery cars. Sometimes, there are customers who will get angry but we understand for they have lost someone. There are times that we are in the middle of the burial ceremony and someone will call for an emergency that needs immediate response. â⬠5) What proposals could be drawn? Being pioneer of this type of business, we all have the confidence to show to our customers that we are ââ¬Å"the Deathcare Expertsâ⬠. We have attended different seminars regarding this service and received many awards with this field of business. We also believe that ââ¬Å"customer is always rightâ⬠so we always obey and respect them, and give them advices to help them recover. Our staffs are properly trained on treating each other equally as well as the customers. Engaging in this type of business determination and the will to be successful, and as you can see, we are developing more and more ecause we are all determined to achieve one goal. As what the Archbishop Emeritus of Cebu, Ricardo J. Significance of the study TO THE FUNERAL OWNER AND STAFF Through this study, they are able to inform their customers the nature of their business, their corporate profile and the services they offered. And because there are only few funeral homes in this place, they have the advantage and the chance to be selected by customers. TO THE COMMUNITY This study would help us know the services offered by the subject of the study and understand the differences of the cost range of the services. And a chance to select among the services offered by the organization.Scope and limitations This study focuses on determining the profile of funeral organizations in Bogo City, Cebu as to ownership, organizational set-ups/structure and personnel. On their proposals for this kind of busin ess, their services offered to community and of course, their costs according to the services they offer and the problems they have encountered in the type of business they are into. Along the research, we encountered different problems such as a limited source of information, and a few research environments so we are not able to finish the research earlier.Research methodology To reach our goal of this study, we made questionnaires for the interview. RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT This research is done in Bogo City, Cebu. There are only three funeral homes in the location, one of them do not want to be interviewed, and unfortunately that the time we conducted the research, the manager of the other funeral home is attending seminar and the staff donââ¬â¢t want to decide on their own, so we collected information by just one of them, the St. Peter Memorial Chapels. RESEARCH SUBJECT The main subject of this study is the St.Peter Memorial Chapels with Mr. Jessie R. Agunod and Mr. Jan Ridomer R amos. RESEARCH INSTRUMENT Throughout the study, we consulted different books and websites to produce this information. Also, in conducting interview, written questionnaires were used. DATA COLLECTION We personally went to the location and asked them information about this study. And we gather different ideas through scanning different books in the library and websites. Definition of terms CREMATION- burning a dead body to ashes instead of embalming.COFFIN- the box in which the body of a dead person is buried. EMBALMER- the person who did the preservation of the dead body. EMBALMING- way of preserving a dead body. FUNERAL- is a ceremony for celebrating, sanctifying, or remembering the life of a person who has died. FUNERAL HOME-(mortuary) is a business that provides burial and funeral services for the deceased and their families.
